Gone are the days where physical meetings in person was the norm. With the introduction of COVID-19, one of the most significant adjustments that people have had to become accustomed to is attendance at virtual meetings. This included our weekly Toastmasters Club meetings for the Capital Toastmasters Suva Club in Fiji.
Yes, virtual meetings are a BIG change and came with its own challenges. For example, whilst the virtual meetings could take place in the comfort of one’s own home, it is quite difficult to gauge the audience’s reaction or body language. Virtual meetings also pushed one to upskill themselves in operating the platforms in which the virtual meetings are conducted like Zoom.
However, the adjustment has been made easier with amazing and supportive members who are driven to excel. It all boils down to ‘survival of the fittest’.
