Erasito Consultants Limited were engaged to upgrade the structural loading capacity of a section of the Queens’ Wharf to accommodate a 90 tonne wheel axial loading. This involved assessing the existing capacity of the wharf and determining the most cost effective method of upgrading the structure. This was acquired by constructing a topping layer to the existing deck which effectively strengthened the existing drop beams of the deck. Services provided by Erasito Consultants included modelling the deck structure and carrying out a structural, load capacity analysis of the superstructure; carry out a deck strengthening exercise to increase the load capacity to withstand a 90tonne forklift working load; compile contract drawings; compile tender documentation; evaluate tenders and award the contract; supervise construction works.
